Trapani Farms’ CSA 2017

How does it work?

Our CSA differs from most others because we will not be deciding what the shareholder will be receiving each week. Each shareholder will receive 20 weeks worth of vouchers after their payment is received in full. They will then be able to choose from our vast selection of seasonal fruit and vegetables at our home farm stand, or at one of our many farmers markets we visit throughout the week. (At some of our farm markets we only sell fruit. Also, some markets do not last the full 20 weeks, but multiple vouchers can be used at once. Please check below for availability). Each voucher will be worth more than what the shareholder originally paid for it at the beginning of the season.

*Full Share-$400 / Half Share-$220

*Vouchers for the full share will be worth $23 each for 20 weeks

*Vouchers for the half share will be worth $12 each for 20 weeks

*Vouchers must be used in full. Change will not be given.

*In the event that a shareholder cannot make it to a market, their share may be redeemed during another week.

*Multiple vouchers may be used at once.

*Shareholders may have others use their voucher, but whoever uses it must give the original shareholder’s name when doing so. This is to help monitor our voucher usage.

June 10th- October 22nd

Fruit and Vegetables offered

FYI- For some people who are new to CSA or farming in general, fruit and vegetables are NOT all ready at the same time. We will be sending out weekly e-mails to our shareholders letting them know what will be available that week.

Fruit- Raspberries, blueberries, gooseberries, blackberries, currants, strawberries, cherries, peaches, plums, nectarines, melons, apricots, and pears.

Apples- Honeycrisp, Gala, Macs, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Rome, Cameo, Paula Red, Braeburn, Empire, Jona-Gold, Lady Apples, Fuji, Cortland, Jona-Mac, and Mutsu.

Vegetables- Corn, tomatoes, peppers, hot peppers, eggplant, zucchini, summer squash, winter squash, lettuce, cucumbers, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, radishes, carrots, greens, onions, kale, parsley, basil and much more!

Helpful tip from the farmers

*Freeze as much as you can! Certain fruits and vegetables are only available for a short period of time. Freezing them is the best way to have delicious local produce well into the fall and winter months.

Shared Risk

Our goal is to provide members with a variety of options with our produce each week. The variety of produce, however, may vary from week-to-week due to extreme weather, insects, or other production factors despite our best efforts. By joining the Trapani Farms’ CSA, members agree to share the risk of crop failure with the farm. Despite the possibility of lacking variety, all of our members will always receive the full value of their share over the course of the season.
